I’ve always hated the idea that there are no shortcuts. There are SO many shortcuts and a lot of them are essential to getting things done quickly. My absolute favorite shortcut is learning from people at a higher level and emulating them. Me and every other coach worth their weight in salt has harped on the idea that you are the average of the five people you spend your time with (thanks Jim Rohn) – but WHY is that important?
Many people look at that for an example of income – if your 5 closes friends all make 50K a year, it is very unlikely that you make significantly more or less than $50K a year. But what about mindset? Take some time today and consider exactly what kind of influence you want to have on others and what kind of influence you want them to have on you.
Do you want your friends to have passions and goals? Do you want them to be focused on the future and saving? Do you want to be around people who prioritize fun and living in the moment? One of the priorities in my life is being able to retire early and spend a lot of time with my family. My closest friends all share this goal.
